1940s Slim Skirt Sewing Pattern with Inverted Pleats & Welt Pockets

A beautifully cut 1943 skirt with the neat, tailored shape that works just as well today.

The skirt has a slim silhouette with an inverted pleat at both the centre front and centre back, giving a little extra movement without losing the narrow line. Darts shape the back for a closer fit at the waist and hips.

There are two versions to make. Style 1 has two diagonal welt pockets set into the front, while Style 2 has a shaped waistband designed to be worn with a purchased belt.

A very useful 1940s skirt pattern that could be made in anything from a smart wool or suiting fabric to a more everyday cloth, depending on the look you want.
