1940s Pretty Knitted Vest and Pantie Set Pattern | Bust 30–32

Price range: £3.99 through £5.99

This 1940s knitting pattern includes a matching vest and panties, designed with simple stocking stitch and delicate lace panels that add just enough detail without making them overly complicated. The lace runs down the front and back of the vest and along each side of the panties, giving the set just enough interest to feel different.

Originally intended as everyday underwear, the design would also make a pretty camisole-style top or could be worn as part of a vintage-inspired wardrobe. The pattern is mostly knitted, with a small amount of crochet used to finish the edges.

The original pattern calls for approximately 200g (7 oz) of 2-ply yarn, 3.25 mm (UK No.10) and 3 mm (UK No.11) knitting needles, a 2.75 mm (UK No.12) crochet hook, ribbon for the shoulder straps, and narrow elastic for the panties.

Designed to fit a 30–32 inch bust, the original tension is 8 stitches per inch over stocking stitch using 3.25 mm (UK No.10) needles.
