1940s Camisole and Panties Knitting Pattern Bust 32–34

Price range: £3.99 through £5.99

Lightweight, practical and neatly finished, this 1940s camisole and panties set was designed for everyday wear. Both garments are worked in a delicate lace stitch with ribbed waists, while the camisole neckline and the leg openings of the panties are finished with a crocheted edging. The panties also feature a stocking stitch gusset with elastic threaded through the waist.

The original pattern uses approximately 4 oz of Patons Beehive Fingering 2-ply yarn. A modern lace-weight yarn may provide a suitable substitute, although a tension swatch is recommended. You will also need a pair each of No. 11 and No. 12 knitting needles.

The camisole measures approximately 9¾ inches from the top edge to the lower edge and 28 inches around before stretching to fit a 32–34 inch bust. The panties are designed to stretch to fit 36–38 inch hips.
