1940s Bikini Bathing Suit & Bolero Vintage Knitting Pattern | 35 Inch Bust | Retro Swimwear

This pattern was originally designed so the suit fits snugly before you wear it,
wool naturally expands a little when wet, so the finished garment will stretch
into shape once worn. The instructions include all the details you need to get
that perfect vintage fit.

You’ll be working with Patons Beehive Fingering 3-ply yarn in white, royal blue,
and a touch of scarlet for the embroidery. The original calls for UK needle sizes
No. 13, 12, and 10 — but don’t worry, I’ve added a conversion chart so you can
easily match them to modern needle sizes.

The bathing suit is made to fit a 34–35 inch bust with 36–37 inch hips, while the
panties measure around 38 inches at the hips and about 16 inches long from
waist to leg. The bolero fits the same bust size and measures roughly 12 inches
from shoulder to hem, with short 4-inch sleeves.
