A lovely 1930s jumper with a rather clever little detail at the neckline. Knitted in a fancy rib pattern, it has neat ribbed bands at the waist and wrists, with a matching ribbed collar through which a long crocheted scarf is threaded and tied into a generous bow.
I particularly like the contrast between the textured jumper and the decorative scarf. It’s a pretty combination that gives an otherwise simple jumper a little something extra, and would look lovely worn with a skirt or high-waisted trousers.
The pattern originally used approximately 370g (13 oz) of Sirdar Crochet Wool in grey, with a further 1 oz (approximately 28g) in red. You’ll need old UK size 8 (4mm) and size 12 (2.75mm) knitting needles, together with a size 7 (4.5mm) crochet hook.
The original tension is 6 stitches to 1 inch for the knitting and 4 stitches to 1 inch for the crochet.
