1920s Day Dress Sewing Pattern – Slip-Over Frock with Side Pleats

Price range: £10.49 through £19.99

A lovely everyday frock from the early 1920s, with the easy, straight silhouette so typical of the decade. The dress has a simple front and back, with pleated inserts at either side of the skirt to give a little extra movement and shape.

The open collar gives it a relaxed finish, while the belt threads through two slits at the front before tying neatly at the back. You can choose between long or short sleeves, both finished with cuffs.

A versatile design that would work beautifully in a plain linen or cotton for everyday wear, or something a little dressier for a smarter look.

To fit: Bust 36 inches (91 cm), Hip 38 inches (97 cm). The straightforward shape should make it relatively easy for an experienced sewist to adjust up or down a size.

Suggested fabrics: Silk, cotton, rayon, rayon alpaca, linen, damask or similar woven fabrics.

The pattern includes full pictorial sewing instructions to guide you through making the dress.
