Fitted Full-Length Coat Sewing Pattern – Notched Collar, Bust 34

This sewing pattern is for a full-length fitted coat with a notched collar, concealed pockets and carefully placed shaping through the back.

The pockets are set into the side-front seams, while shaped pleats are worked into the side-back seams below the waist. The front fastens with buttons beneath the notched collar, with a separate top collar included as an optional variation.

Long, fitted two-piece sleeves are finished with buttons at the wrists, adding another tailored detail to the coat.

Suitable fabrics include wool broadcloth, fleece, zibeline, tweed, flannel and lightweight woollens. Diagonal-weave fabrics are not recommended for this design.

The pattern is for a 34-inch (86 cm) bust and is best suited to an intermediate sewer who already has some experience with fitted garments and tailoring.
