1950s Bubble Lace Blouse Knitting Pattern – Puff Sleeves, Bust 34–36

This 1950s knitting pattern is for a fine knitted blouse worked in a decorative lace ‘bubble’ stitch.

The blouse has short puff sleeves, with ribbon threaded through the knitting around the neckline and sleeve edges to finish the design.

Originally knitted in Patons Beehive Fingering 2-ply, the pattern uses old UK No. 11, No. 12 and No. 13 needles and requires approximately 6 oz (170 g) of yarn.

A modern 3-ply may be worth trying as a substitute, but work a tension square first and use the stated tension in the pattern as your guide rather than relying on yarn weight alone.
