1940s Pinafore Dress & Blouse Sewing Pattern – Bishop Sleeves, Bust 36

This 1943 sewing pattern includes a pinafore dress, originally described as a jumper, and a separate button-front blouse.

The blouse buttons at the front beneath a notched collar and can be made with either full bishop sleeves or short sleeves.

The pinafore has a notched collar and is softly gathered below the shoulders. An inset belt joins the bodice to the skirt, which has an inverted pleat at both the front and back. The pinafore fastens at the left side with buttons and buttonholes.

No original fabric recommendations are given. Suitable woven fabrics could include viscose or rayon, cotton, lightweight wool and light suiting fabrics.

The pattern is drafted for a 36-inch bust, 30-inch waist and 39-inch hip and is suitable for an advanced beginner upwards.
