1940s Knitted Dress Pattern – Puff Sleeves & Bow Collar, Bust 32–34

This 1940s knitting pattern is for a fitted knitted dress worked mainly in stocking stitch, with gathers at either side of the bust and at the front waist to create the shaping.

The dress has short puff sleeves and a small bow collar at the neckline, adding detail to an otherwise straightforward stocking-stitch design.

Originally knitted in “Sun-Glo” Shrink-proof or “Sunbeam” Super 3-ply fingering wool, the pattern requires 16 one-ounce skeins, approximately 454 g in total.

You will also need old UK No. 10 (3.25 mm) and No. 12 (2.75 mm) knitting needles and a medium crochet hook.
