1940s Haslam Dresscutting Lingerie No. 6 – Underwear, Nightwear & Maternity

The book includes nightgowns and pyjamas, underskirts, cami-knickers, French knickers and bras, together with house gowns, dressing gowns, dressing jackets and short coaties. There is also a combined underskirt and knickers design.

Beyond lingerie and nightwear, the collection includes maternity wear, a practical pinafore dress, overalls, jackets with alternative neck finishes and an unusual cycling skirt.

The economical presentation of this edition suggests it may date from the wartime rationing period, making it an interesting example of practical 1940s home dressmaking as well as a useful collection of designs.

The garments are created using the Haslam System of Dresscutting, allowing you to draft your chosen design to individual measurements rather than working from a standard-sized sewing pattern.

To use the designs you will need the Haslam Foundation Drafting Instructions and Drafting Boards. These are used to prepare your personal foundation before adapting it with the drafting instructions for your chosen design.
