Haslam Illustrated Book of Drafting No. 9a is a Spring and Summer collection from 1939, featuring a varied selection of fashions from the final years of the decade.

The book includes dresses, suits and coats, together with trousers, beachwear and tennis wear. It gives a particularly good cross-section of late-1930s clothing, from smart dresses and tailoring to more relaxed summer and sporting styles.

The Foundation Drafting is included within this book, allowing the designs to be drafted to individual measurements. You will still need the Haslam Drafting Boards to complete the drafting process.

Rather than working from standard-sized sewing patterns, the Haslam System of Dresscutting allows you to create each garment from the foundation and adapt the design to your own measurements.
