1920s Haslam Dresscutting No. 5 – Dresses, Evening Wear, Coats & Separates

Haslam Illustrated Book of Drafting No. 5 is an early 1920s edition containing a varied collection of designs for women, together with selected garments for men and children.

The book includes dresses and evening dresses, skirts and blouses, coats and jackets, as well as a man’s shirt and a small selection of children’s designs. It offers a particularly useful cross-section of 1920s clothing, from everyday separates and outerwear to more elegant evening styles.

As an early Haslam edition, the foundation drafting is included within the book, allowing the designs to be drafted to individual measurements. You will still need the Haslam Drafting Boards to complete the drafting process.

Rather than working from standard-sized sewing patterns, the Haslam System of Dresscutting allows you to create each garment from the foundation and adapt the design to your own measurements.

Some of the illustrations have been colourised to help show how the finished garments may look when made up; the booklet itself is presented in black and white.
