Haslam Illustrated Book of Drafting No. 34 is a comprehensive 1950s collection covering both Spring and Summer and Autumn and Winter wear.

The book includes drafting instructions for day dresses, suits and coats, together with evening wear, giving a varied choice of designs for creating a wardrobe across the seasons. It combines everyday dresses and smart tailoring with more formal styles, all with the characteristic shapes and proportions of 1950s fashion.

The designs are created using the Haslam System of Dresscutting, allowing you to draft your chosen garment to your own measurements rather than working from a standard-sized sewing pattern.

To use the designs you will need the Haslam Foundation Drafting Instructions and Drafting Boards. These are used to prepare your personal foundation before adapting it with the drafting instructions for your chosen design.
