1920s Haslam Dresscutting No. 6a – Dresses, Evening Wear, Coats & Separates

Haslam Illustrated Book of Drafting No. 6a is an early Haslam collection featuring a wide selection of fashions from the 1920s.

The book includes day and evening dresses, skirts and blouses, coats, jackets and a suit, giving a good mix of everyday clothing, separates, tailoring and more formal styles. There is also a man’s shirt and a selection of children’s garments, making this a particularly varied early Haslam collection.

The book uses the term jumpers for some of the blouse designs; for a modern audience these are more readily understood as blouses.

Unlike many of the later Haslam design books, the foundation drafting is included within No. 6a. You will still need the Haslam Drafting Boards to work from your individual measurements and complete the drafting process.

Rather than working from standard-sized sewing patterns, the Haslam System of Dresscutting allows you to draft the designs from the foundation and adapt them to your own measurements.
