1930s Haslam Dresscutting No. 4 – Spring Dresses, Tennis Wear, Suits & Coats

Haslam Illustrated Book of Drafting Spring Supplement No. 4 is a 1930s collection combining smart daywear and tailoring with sporting styles for spring.

The book includes day dresses, tennis dresses, suits and coats, giving a useful selection of everyday clothing alongside more tailored designs. The tennis styles are particularly interesting for anyone looking at 1930s sportswear and leisure clothing.

The designs are created using the Haslam System of Dresscutting, allowing you to draft your chosen garment to your own measurements rather than working from a standard-sized sewing pattern.

To use the designs you will need the Haslam Foundation Drafting Instructions and Drafting Boards. These provide the personal foundation used as the starting point for the designs in the book.

The original booklet was produced in black and white, but the fashion illustrations have been colourised to give a clearer impression of how the garments could look when made up.
