1940s Knitted Pixie Hood with Attached Scarf and Matching Gloves Pattern

Price range: £3.99 through £5.99

A cosy 1940s winter set featuring a knitted pixie hood with an attached scarf and matching gloves. A practical design for colder days, with decorative contrasting stripes adding a lovely finishing touch.

The hood and scarf are worked in rib, while the gloves are knitted in plain stocking stitch. The contrasting stripes are crocheted on afterwards, so they can easily be left off if crochet isn’t your thing.

The hood is lightly padded around the face, with matching padded detail around the wrists of the gloves.

Originally knitted in Sirdar Super Shetland 3-ply wool, the pattern requires approximately 4 oz of wool for the hood and scarf, 2 oz for the gloves and a further ½ oz of contrasting wool for the stripes.

The original instructions specify UK No. 10 (3.25 mm) knitting needles, a set of four UK No. 13 (2.25 mm) double-pointed needles for the gloves and a No. 10 crochet hook.

The stated tension is 12 stitches to 1 inch in width.
