1940 Button Front Jumper Knitting Pattern – Lace & Bobble Stitch

A pretty little jumper from 1940, with a buttoned front, neat collar and an interesting combination of lace, bobbles and stocking stitch. The textured pattern runs horizontally across the jumper, giving it a lovely finish. A simple crochet edging around the collar and front opening completes the design.

The original pattern calls for 12 oz (approximately 340g) of Sonata Crepe yarn, which has not been identified, so a tension square is recommended when choosing a modern alternative.

You’ll need 3.25mm and 2.75mm knitting needles, a medium crochet hook and eight buttons. The original tension is 7 stitches to 1 inch on 3.25mm needles.
