A lovely, practical 1940s twin set with a neat V-neck cardigan and matching short-sleeved jumper. Both pieces are worked mainly in stocking stitch with ribbed trims, making this a straightforward and versatile set to knit. The cardigan has two little patch pockets, a buttoned front and long sleeves, while the jumper has a simple round neckline. Wear them together or separately for an easy everyday look.
The pattern includes three sizes to fit 32, 36 and 40 inch busts.
Originally knitted in Patons White Heather or Rose Fingering 3-ply wool, using old UK size 9 and 12 needles (approximately 3.75mm and 2.75mm). You will also need 8 buttons for the cardigan.
The jumper requires approximately 5, 5 or 6 oz of wool, depending on size, and the cardigan approximately 8, 8 or 9 oz.
Tension: Approximately 7 stitches and 9 rows to 1 inch in stocking stitch, using the larger needles.
The pattern includes instructions for both garments in all three sizes, along with making-up directions.
