1940s Wartime Slacks & Blouse Sewing Pattern – Women’s Trousers

A practical wartime pattern for a pair of simple slacks and a military-style blouse – a great example of the useful, wearable designs produced during the Make Do and Mend years.

The slacks are cut in a classic relaxed shape and can be made with loose bottoms or elasticated at the ankles for extra warmth. The blouse has a neat military influence, with a fitted waistband giving it a smart shape without making it fussy.

Together they make a very wearable 1940s outfit, and the separates would work equally well mixed with other pieces in a vintage wardrobe.

Suggested fabrics include flannel, wool suiting, corduroy and similar medium-weight fabrics.
