1930s Polo Collar Jumper Knitting Pattern – Short Sleeves – Bust 32–34″

Price range: £3.99 through £5.99

A smart 1930s polo collar jumper with short sleeves, a neat four-button neckline and an all-over textured stitch pattern. The fitted shape and simple knitted collar give it a clean shirt-style look that is very wearable today. The original version was knitted in a soft misty rust shade, although the design would work well in a wide range of colours.

The stitch pattern isn’t particularly difficult once established. The first 14 rows need a little attention, but after these have been worked the pattern becomes much easier to follow. See the second listing image for a close-up of the stitch pattern.

Designed to fit a 32–34 inch (81–86cm) bust.

The original pattern calls for 6 oz (170g) of Patons Beehive or Scotch Fingering yarn, together with UK No. 10 (3.25mm) and No. 12 (2.75mm) knitting needles. Four buttons are also required.

The original tension is 7½ stitches to 1 inch (2.5cm), measured over the pattern.
