1930s Belted Cardigan Jacket Knitting Pattern – Sports Coatee

The original pattern calls for 14 oz (approximately 400g) of P & B Tweed wool, with UK No. 10 (3.25mm) and No. 7 (4.5mm) knitting needles.

I haven’t been able to confirm the weight of the original P & B Tweed wool. Going by the stated tension, I would estimate that a modern DK weight may be suitable, but this is only an estimate. Please knit a tension square before buying your full quantity of yarn.

The original tension is 5 stitches to 1 inch (2.5cm) on UK No. 7 (4.5mm) needles.
