1940s Knitted Two-Piece Bathing Suit Pattern with Nautical Motif – Bust 33–34″

Price range: £3.99 through £5.99

A fabulous 1940s two-piece knitted bathing suit with a playful nautical motif worked into both the bra top and high-waisted trunks. The halter-style top and fitted trunks make this a wonderfully distinctive piece of 1940s beachwear.

Both the bra and trunks are knitted in two pieces. The halter band is worked separately, sewn to the bra and ties at the back.

You will need approximately 7 oz (200 g) of 4-ply yarn in the main colour, 1 oz (30 g) in the first contrast and ½ oz (15 g) in the second contrast. The pattern also requires UK No. 12 (2.75 mm / US 2) knitting needles and a medium crochet hook.

The bra fits a 33–34 in (84–86 cm) bust and the trunks a 37–38 in (94–97 cm) hip.
