1940s Suspender Skirt Sewing Pattern – 6-Panel Bracer Skirt – Waist 27″

Price range: £10.49 through £15.99

A practical and versatile 1940s two-way skirt pattern, designed to be made in two different styles. Add the shaped girdle section and shoulder straps to create a classic bracer skirt, or leave these pieces off for a standard high-waisted skirt finished with a petersham waistband.

The skirt is constructed from six panels, giving a neatly fitted line through the waist and hips before falling into a gently flared silhouette. A side opening provides the fastening and keeps the front and back lines clean.

Sized to fit a 27 in (68.5 cm) waist and 38 in (96.5 cm) hips.

No specific fabric is given with the pattern, but suitable choices would include flannel, rayon, medium-weight suiting, tweed and novelty woollens. A tartan or checked wool would work particularly well for the bracer version and give it a very characteristic 1940s look.

The pattern comes with basic step-by-step instructions together with a helpful sewing guide to assist with construction.
