1940s Tailored Winter Panties Knitting Pattern | Vintage Ladies’ Underwear Waist 24–27

These tailored 1940s winter panties were designed to provide a smooth, comfortable fit, shaping neatly over the hips before drawing in at the waist. Simple, practical and well proportioned, they are an excellent example of everyday knitted underwear from the period.

The design is worked entirely in stocking stitch using fine 3-ply yarn, creating a lightweight yet warm garment that’s ideal for cooler weather. Originally knitted on No. 10 and No. 12 needles, a modern 3-ply yarn can be substituted to achieve a similar finish.

Designed to fit a 24–27 inch waist, the completed garment measures approximately 15 inches along the side seam.
