1930s Jumper Knitting Pattern | High Neck Moss Stitch Sweater | Bust 34–36

Price range: £3.99 through £5.99

A well designed jumper never goes out of style, and this lovely 1930s pattern is a perfect example. The textured yoke combines moss stitch with ribbing to create a striking feature across the shoulders, while the vertical panels give the jumper an elegant, flattering shape. Finished with a neat high neckline that fastens at the back with small buttons, it’s a style that’s just as wearable today as when it was first designed.

The pattern includes instructions for both short and long sleeves and is designed to fit a 34–36 inch bust. The finished length is approximately 18½ inches, with sleeve seams measuring 6 inches for the short-sleeved version or 18½ inches for the long sleeves.

Originally knitted in 4-ply yarn, you’ll need 200g (7 oz) for the short-sleeved version or 284g (10 oz) for the long sleeves, along with 4mm and 3.25mm needles, five small buttons, and one press stud. The stated tension is 6 stitches per inch worked over moss stitch.

Like so many classic vintage designs, this jumper proves that simple stitches, thoughtfully combined, can create something truly special.
