1950s Men’s Fair Isle Jacket Knitting Pattern in 3 Sizes

A handsome 1950s men’s Fair Isle jacket with a zip front, knitted in chunky yarn for a warm and
comfortable fit. The traditional Fair Isle pattern gives it plenty of vintage character, but if you
prefer a simpler, more modern look, you can work just the Fair Isle band and leave out the all
over colour work.

The Fair Isle section is written out row by row, so there’s no chart to follow.

Sized to fit a 38, 40 or 42-inch chest, with finished measurements of approximately 39, 42
and 44 inches.

Knitted at a tension of 3 stitches per inch using vintage needle sizes No. 2 (7.00mm) and
No. 5 (5.50mm). Modern needle size conversions are included.
