1940s Tyrolean Floral Jumper Vintage Knitting Pattern with Embroidery and Crochet Edges

Harvest fields and country fairs are called to mind by this colourful little jumper with its jewel
bright posies of meadow flowers. It can be made with long or short sleeves, and the coloured
crochet border round the neck and front is a charming finish.

Worked in 5 ply (the original says slightly thicker than a 4 ply) on No. 12 (2.75 mm) and No. 9
(3.75 mm) needles, with a No. 10 (3.25 mm) crochet hook and 6 buttons.

You will need 12 oz (341 g) for the short sleeve version and 14 oz (400 g) for the long sleeve
version. Scraps of wool are required for the embroidery in various colours, with red for the
edging.

To fit a 35–36 inch bust. Length from shoulder is 18 inches. Long sleeve underarm seam is
approximately 18 inches, and short sleeve seam is 5¼ inches.

Tension: On No. 9 (3.75 mm) needles, each pattern measured about 2 inches in width
(unexpanded) and 3 inches in depth. The reversed stocking stitch gave a tension of 7
stitches to an inch and 24 rows to 3 inches in depth.
