1950’s Man’s Fair Isle Check Swim Trunks PDF Vintage Knitting Pattern

1950 ‘s Swimming trunks worked in stocking
stitch with ribbed waist and legs and belt tabs.

The pattern consists of 4 rows alternating the
colours eg: 1st row knit row, knit 2 dark , 2 light
and then repeating on the 2nd row purl row,
and then changing on the 3rd and 4th rows
to 2 light, 2 dark etc, creating the small check

MATERIALS: 5 ozs. (approx 172g) of a dark shade
and 3 ozs. (approx 85g) of a light shade Patons
Purple Heather Fingering 4 ply Patonised. A pair
each No. 12 (2.75mm) and No. 13 (2.25mm)
needles. A canvas belt

To fit 36-38 inch hip; length from waist to
crutch 14.5 inches

The needles are old sizes so I have included
a conversion chart to help with metric and
US sizes
