Description
This one is from 1941 right at the height of rationing.
You could make these for 4 coupons, a really great
saving when coupons were precious.
They are mainly worked in stocking stitch with a hole
pattern worked in at the bottom of the legs and at
the front and back of the vest. The welts are ribbed
as is the waist on both the knickers and vest.
Size to fit a 34-38 inch Bust
The original yarn used was: 8 ozs. (227g) Feminia
2 ply Art Silk and Wool. A Pair each No. 9 (3.75mm)
and No. 11 (3mm) needles, elastic for waist and
ribbon for straps.
TENSION: 7 sts. and 10 rows to one inch
The needles are old U.K sizes so I have included a
conversion chart to help
