Description
In 1945 as the wartime era was coming to an end
rationing was still very hard, knitting was one of
the only ways to replenish your undies. These
sensible undies were worked with 6oz (approx
171g) of 2 ply on No. 10 (3.25) and 12 (2.75) needles.
You could try 3-ply but check the tension first.
VEST: To fit : 35-37 ins. Bust
From top of shoulder 30 ins.
PANTIES: 38-40 ins Hips
Length from waist to bottom (side edge) 20 ins.
Leg seam to gusset 5 ins.
The needles are old sizes so I have included a
conversion chart to help
