Description

A knitted shirt-waister dress from the 1940’s. It was worked in
Lincoln Mills “Daphne” Crochet wool on No. 11 (3.00) needles.
The only reference I can find to its weight is on Ravelry which
states it was a light fingering. Probably a 3 ply. But please
check yourself as I can’t guarantee it’s correct. The skirt
part of the dress can be knitted on either a circular needle
for a smooth line or 2 needles for easier knitting, there are
instructions for both. The rest of the dress is worked on 2
needles except the collar which knitted on 4 needles.

There is also a helpful guide on how to increase sizes.

Materials needed are: 9oz (256g) Light fingering as above
or you can try 4-ply checking tension first ( I have not done
this myself so cannot guarantee results)

TENSION: 9 rows and 71/2 stitches to an Inch

Materials needed are: 20oz (567g) Light fingering as above
or you can try 4-ply checking tension first ( I have not done
this myself so cannot guarantee results)

1 No. 11 (3.00) circular needle
1 Pair No. 11 (3.00) needles
1 set No. 11 (3.00) double point needles for the collar
5 buttons
3/4 yard elastic

The needles are old sizes so I have included a conversion
chart for reference to modern sizes.

The pattern sheet comes in A4 format and all you need to
do is print and use.
