Description

This little swing back coat is designed to be
knitted in astrakhan knitting yarn. A thick
cord finishes the neck and the buttons are
made by coiling a length of the cord flat.
Directions for making are given for two
kinds of astrakhan, the first is for a light-
weight and the second for a heavy weight
yarn. It’s worked throughout in nice and
simple garter stitch

MEASUREMENTS: To fit a bust 34 inches,
sleeve length 17 inches at the seam:
length from shoulder to lower edge
24 inches.

MATERIALS: Light-weight astrakhan; 3lbs
(48ozs. or 1360.78grams) of astrakhan
knitting wool; pair of No. 4 (6.00mm)
needles; 1.5 yards of heavy silk cord

TENSION: 3 sts. to 1 inch

The needles are old sizes so I have included a
conversion chart to help with Old, metric
and US sizes
