Description

A Fair Isle Cardigan from 1948. It’s worked in
fingering 4 ply and 2 ply for the contrasting
colours doubled. You can use 4 ply through-
out. There is a chart to follow for the pattern.

TENSION: 6 sts. to the inch

MATERIALS: – 10 ozs (284g) of 2-ply fingering in
white and 1 oz (28g) each of red and blue in 2 ply
used double throughout (here you could use 4 ply
single instead). A pair of No.9 and 11 knitting
needles, 8 buttons. Med crochet hook.

MEASUREMENTS: – To fit 34-36 ins Bust
Length from top of shoulders 20 1/2 ins.
Sleeve seams 18 1/2 ins.

The needles are old sizes so I have included a
conversion chart to help
