Description

More undies from the 1940’s. They did love to knit
them back then. It was probably the only way to
get something new in a time when everything was
on ration and you had plenty of time on your hands
(no internet!!)

They were both worked in Templetons ‘Picotee’
fingering (3-ply) on No. 10 and 12 needles

Materials: The camiknickers take 6.5oz and the
pantie set 8oz.

Templetons ‘Picotee’ fingering was a Wool/Rayon
mix 3 ply

TENSION:
Pantie set: 7sts. and 9 rows to an inch
Camiknickers: 8sts. in stocking-stitch and 7 sts. in
lace st. to 1 inch in width and 10 rows to 1 in in depth.

MEASUREMENTS: PANTIE SET
KNICKERS: Length down centre back 13 ins. Length
down centre front 11 ins. Length at side fold 19 ins.
Width across widest part 20 ins.

VEST: Length down centre back 22 ins. Length to
top of front point 24 ins. Width all round stretching

MEASUREMENTS: CAMIKNICKERS
Length from top of shoulder 30 ins.Round lower
edge of each leg 23 ins. Round waist 20 ins. – stretching.
Width all round below armholes 30 ins. – stretching

The needles are old sizes so I have included a
conversion chart to help
