1930’s Wedding dress in knot stitch worked on 7mm wooden
needles giving the open lace effect pattern in the image.
Velveen was Crepe-like in texture with a very slight sheen
and a lightweight 4 ply fingering and good for summer
It works well either as a bridal gown or you could knit in other
colors for evening wear. The image shows an added satin or
silk sash which just finishes the whole thing off. The Cathedral
length veil was also very popular in the the 30’s.
Size to fit:
16 US vintage size which seems to be a 34ins bust.
You can knit 1 smaller and 2 larger sizes (14, 18 and 20 –
32, 36 and 38ins bust) by simply following the instructions
included in the pattern.
