Description
This charming and unusual coat, knitted in brown
and white stripes has deep circular yoke fastened
with 5 buttons, so that the lower part of the coat
swings free like a bolero.
The little Fez hat to match has a crochet crown and
a stiff canvas brim embroidered with close rows of
satin stitch.
The entire coat except for the yoke and border, is
knitted in stocking stitch in 6 rows of light and 6 rows
of dark yarn. The hat is crocheted.
Original yarn used was 9 ozs.(256g) of Ramada Wool
4 ply. 5 ozs (142g) in a dark shade and 4 ozs (114g) in
a light shade. The original colours used were brown
and white. A pair each No. 8 (4mm) and no. 10 (3.25mm)
needles. Crochet Hook No.11 (3mm). 5 small buttons.
1/4 yd of canvas and 1/4 yd of lining for the Hat.
TENSION knitting: 6 stitches and 8 rows to one inch
TENSION CROCHET: 8 d.c to one inch in width
and 7 rows to one inch
Coat Size is for a 34-36 Bust. Hat round head
22 inches
