Description
A clever little cropped jacket and matching cap from 1937 made in Astrakhan
yarn. The jacket is edge to edge with a little stand up collar fastened with
either a gross-grain ribbon bow or clip and the little jaunty cap has a bow trim
as well.
The original used yarn was W B Kwiknit Astrakhan Wool on No. 6 needles
(5.00mm). No reference anywhere so far on the weight of this yarn, but
kwiknit yarn was usually about a D.K weight.
You will need about 34oz (964g) of Astrakhan yarn for the Jacket and Cap
Tension: about 3 sts. to 1 inch
Measurements to fit Bust:
34-35 ins.
The needles are old sizes so I have included a conversion chart for
reference to modern sizes.
